Due to an emergency bug fix, all game worlds were temporarily offline
today for several hours. All game worlds are now back online but we had
to reset the following worlds to the state of January 10, 10:00 CET:
Aldora, Amera, Askara, Aurera, Aurora, Celesta, Chimera, Danera, Elysia,
Fidera, Fortera, Honera, Iridia, Jamera, Luminera, Magera, Malvera,
Menera, Nebula, Neptera, Nerana, Olympa, Pacera, Samera, Secura, and
Vinera. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this has caused.
Just a year ago, Tibia turned 15, and we enjoyed one month full of
festivities to celebrate this milestone. This year, we want to mark
Tibia's birthday with a small "Caption This!" contest.
We have set up a jolly Tibia scene, and your task is to provide a funny,
witty, or just a lovely caption for this screenshot. Your submission
may contain up to 3 sentences and can be speech or thought bubbles, or a
short description of the picture. Of course, it should be related to
Tibia's birthday somehow. There are some sweet prizes up for grabs so
give it a try!
Submit your captions by posting them in the designated thread until Monday, January 14, 12:00 CET. Please make sure to read the contest rules before posting.
We community managers will then choose our top 16 submissions, and
announce them in a news article. The winners will be rewarded with 30
days of premium time, and a CM token each. Also, we have filled 16 backpacks from Tibia's 15th anniversary with some nice stuff, and will raffle them off among our top 16.
Get creative, we are already looking forward to your submissions!
It seems only moments ago that we were celebrating Tibia's 15th anniversary together, and now the year 2012 is already coming to a close!
The festive days are almost here, and they will give us all some time to
rest and recharge. While some still believe the world will end today,
we are looking forward to a new adventurous year in Tibia, full of
exciting moments. We can already announce the first highlight in the new
year: We plan to launch the PvP preview in the first quarter of 2013.
We sincerely thank you for your continued support, your loyalty, and
your enthusiasm throughout the past year. Thank you for making this
great community possible. Your dedication inspires us all!
We hope you have a splendid holiday season together with your loved
ones, and we wish you all the best for 2013! Make sure to keep yourself
warm on cold days, and if you live somewhere warm: Enjoy the sun! In any
case, stay healthy and take care!
Recently, many players experienced connection problems such as mass
kicks which were caused by heavy DDoS attacks.
In order to alleviate the negative impact these attacks obviously have
on your gameplay experience, all temple NPCs will hand out all blessings which
are available in Tibia for free and for all players from tomorrow's server save
on. You can get the blessings repeatedly so just ask a temple NPC for
"blessing" in order to get protected. This option will be kept ingame
until further notice.
We would like to offer our sincerest apologies for inconveniences caused
by these malicious attacks.
Thank you for bearing with us!
Your Community Managers
With yesterday's, and today's server save, we implemented further content fixes:
•It is now possible to use yellow bed kits on canopy beds.
•An issue with the Warpath mini world change was fixed. Players will
now always be teleported out of the orc camp two minutes after the death
of Bibby Bloodbath.
•NPC Lynda will not longer hand out an adventurer's stone at the end of a marriage ceremony but bring you to Fibula again.
•It is not possible anymore to bring tutorial items from the Isle of Destiny to main.
•NPC Black Bert now sells memory crystals for 500 gold each.
•The teleport in the stampor dungeon is not trashable anymore.
•Issues with the male barbarian and the female demon outfit were fixed.
•From now on, you can only do the Venore daily tasks once every 20 hours.
•The issue with the layout of the VIP list and hidden offline entries in the Flash client was fixed.
•Last but not least, several typos, some map bugs, and minor issues were addressed.
Once again, thanks to all tutors and players who report bugs, glitches,
and issues so that we can fix them. We really appreciate your efforts!
We implemented further content fixes with today's server save:
• The issue in the Blackmail mission of the Thieves Guild quest has been fixed. The compromising letter can now be found again.
• A ladder has been added to the hull of the half-finished ship in Venore's shipyard.
• We fixed an issue with Mamma Longlegs. She now spawns again as usual.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all tutors and players
who report bugs, glitches, and issues so that we can fix them. We really
appreciate your efforts!
With today's server save, a few fixes were implemented, for example:
• We fixed an issue with the shared experience bonus. It is now calculated correctly again.
• Carpet pilot Gewen now checks the premium status of characters correctly.
• Old Sanctuary of God King Qjell: A couple of house fields in the
backyard upstairs and downstairs were added to this house. Therefore,
the price of the house has increased to 21,940 gold.
• If you buy new Venorean furniture pieces, you can now rotate them
correctly. Venorean furniture that was bought before the patch today,
and could not be moved anymore after rotating it, can be destroyed by
house owners.
• The bonus reward from Norman the Foreman now triggers correctly.
• The cake cabinet can no longer be bought from furniture shops. This piece of furniture will be obtainable otherwise, though.
The waiting is over!
The winter update 2012 has been released, and brings along new stuff.
Before you head out to explore everything it has to offer, let us recap
the content and features that are waiting for you:
One of your first visits should definitely lead you to Venore
in order to see the city's new splendour yourself. The bustling city
has undergone a remarkable renovation. Be amazed by the rich
architecture and lavish décor that embellish all houses, buildings and
streets. If you need a more down-to-earth experience after all this
grandeur, you should stop by the swamp south-west of Venore. The whole
area looks muddier and boggier than ever before, and you will come
across a variety of new creatures. If you are rather looking for work,
you may want to search the swamp for Norman The Foreman or the goblin
merchant Rafzan.
In our second teaser, we informed you about various adjustments, for example:
In Kazordoon, the ore waggon system has been expanded, and a carpet
pilot has started to offer her service in order to increase the
accessibility of the dwarven city. Also, the mines in Kazordoon harbour
new threats since the dwarfs obviously dug too deep. Be on your guard
down there for you may run into bloodthirsty packs of the Lost.
The speed of all creatures in Tibia, including player characters, has
been changed. While characters with a lower level walk faster now, the
speed of characters with a higher level has been curbed. The speed of
monsters has been adjusted accordingly. If you are interested in deeper
information, you may want to read through the designated speed changes thread on the test board.
The new demon outfit can be obtained by experienced adventurers who
manage to master three specific challenging quests. Also, some existing
hunting grounds have been adjusted in order to improve your hunting
experience. Check our list with additional information
to find out where changes have been made. Moreover, monsters do not
damage each other or their own summons anymore so you better be prepared
when heading out to dungeons.
In order to offer a smoother start into the world of Tibia, we have
expanded the tutorial by adding a small festival to the Island of
Destiny where players can try out all vocations before making their
choice. In addition, they are provided with an adventurer's stone which
grants access to the Adventurers' Guild. If you have already left the
Island of Destiny, you can also get a stone from temple priests. The
Adventurers' Guild offers useful information about Tibia, and you can
buy your promotion there, for example.
Last but not least, we have introduced a new state which your character
will enter during the login process, or in case of death: the pending state.
If you die, you will not lose your chat channels anymore, and will no
longer be dismissed from a party due to this state. Characters in
pending state will appear orange in the VIP list and in the Flash
client's private chat channels.
The update will download automatically when you log into the game. You can also download the new stand-alone client version 9.8 from our download section.
Once again it is time to say good-bye to a year full of events in Tibia. A good time to go on a journey through 2012, to call to our minds what has happened this year.
